@@caitlincowell8643 you can 3d print a 3d printer. Well, many of the parts for one. F5 Manufacturing is who makes this launcher. You could make one, but probably no cheaper or as good as theirs.

@TheyCallMeCrisspy no, when a modern cartridge is fired, the brass casing seals itself in the chamber momentarily to expel all the gasses forward. You'd have to have higher pressures than that to "boost" the projectile. Most standard 22lr chamber pressures are in the neighborhood of 20,000-25,000psi. If you want it to go faster, use more powerful ammo. Hyper velocity 22lr's exist now, 22mag, etc

That's the problem. There doesn't seem to be much if any overlap. Strong enough to fire reliably and still weak enough to eject reliably. The closed bolt version would be better.

@@jimafcarbon4433 thats what i was saying the plastic one would work better for auto ejection its not just the spring its the spring and weight of the bolt combined a light bolt enough bolt will bounce back enough if you dont have to much of a spring

I buy Redman rifled liners from brownells. They make great barrels for all DIY stuff, even 3d printed designs. Chaszel makes good liners too.

Just fir the looks, I want to make one from rebar. It won't be easy, but it will look cool!

@alexprokhorov407 without rifling, the NFA deems it an AOW. The same configuration without either the grip or the rifling would classify this as an AOW, regulated by the NFA. Excerpt from the ATF says that in order for a pistol to be legal and unregulated(meaning that it won't need to be registered & taxed as an 'any other weapon under the NFA rules), the pistol must have these 3 characteristics: 1. A grip extending at a downward angle from the bore. 2. The barrel must be rifled 'sufficiently to impart a spin on the projectile. 3. "Need" ? Never had anything to do with it. Most of us have all requirements WELL covered. We're spoiled. We get to make makeshift and improvised weapons just for fun. Still, better to have the skills and abilities before it's your only option. Besides, the point of the video was to show it can be done legally. I'm only suggesting people NOT break the law.
